Israeli government needs to cool it on beating war drums

Have Israel’s supporters in the United States – and I used to be one – thought through the ultimate consequences of ratcheting up the pressure on President Obama to be more aggressive toward Iran, even if it leads to pre-emptive war over not-yet-existing weapons of mass destruction? Remember the false premise of the Bush administration’s invasion of Iraq? In an election year, the orchestrated public campaign playing out in American mass media is intensely resented by many citizens as contrary to the national interest.

The government of Prime Minister Netanyahu would do well to “cool it.”
